1. Season the Steak and Shrimp

  1. Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and pepper. Let them rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  2. For the shrimp, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper, setting them aside until ready to cook.

2. Sear the Steaks

  1. In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and hot.
  2. Place the seasoned steaks in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired. This will achieve a beautiful brown crust on each side.

4. Prepare the Creamy Mushroom Sauce

  1. Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring frequently, for about 5-7 minutes or until the mushrooms release their juices and become golden brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer, allowing it to reduce slightly to concentrate the flavors.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Dijon mustard. Stir well to combine all ingredients into a creamy sauce.
  5. Let the sauce simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.

5. Combine and Serve

  1. Return the cooked steaks and shrimp to the skillet, spooning some of the creamy mushroom sauce over the top.
  2. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color and a hint of freshness.
  3. Serve hot, spooning extra mushroom sauce over the steak and shrimp for added indulgence.
