Instructions to Make Strawberry Crunch Banana Pudding
Step 1: Prepare the Banana Pudding Layer
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Fold in half of the whipped topping until well combined and creamy. Set aside in the refrigerator to firm up while you prepare the other layers.
Step 2: Make the Strawberry Crunch Topping
- Place the golden Oreos in a plastic bag and crush them into crumbs with a rolling pin or pulse them in a food processor until fine.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the strawberry-flavored gelatin powder.
- Pour the melted butter over the Oreo-gelatin mixture and stir well until the crumbs are fully coated and resemble a coarse, crumbly texture. Set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Layers
- Layer the Vanilla Wafers: In a 9×13-inch glass dish or trifle bowl, start by arranging a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
- Add Banana Slices: Place a layer of banana slices over the vanilla wafers, covering them evenly.
- Spread the Banana Pudding: Pour half of the banana pudding mixture over the banana slices, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
- Add the Fresh Strawberries: Layer half of the diced strawberries over the pudding mixture.
- Repeat the Layers: Add another layer of vanilla wafers, bananas, and the remaining banana pudding, followed by the rest of the fresh strawberries.
Step 4: Top with Strawberry Crunch
- Spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over the last layer of strawberries.
- Sprinkle the strawberry crunch topping generously over the top layer of whipped topping, ensuring an even coating for a beautiful, crunchy finish.
Step 5: Chill and Serve
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or up to overnight) to allow the flavors to meld together and the pudding to set.
- Serve chilled, scooping out generous portions for each serving to reveal the beautiful layers.
